BA (Hons) Fine Art: Painting
There is a purity, a beauty that comes from the simple principles of a cloud. Their omnipresence offers me a perfect platform onto which I can adhere physical ideas. My paintings are idea paintings; formed of intellect, memory and imagination. I attempt to use the physicality of the paint and its construction on the surface to allude to the sky itself as a separate form. I make use of the sensory properties of colour to evoke a reaction comparable to natural light. However, a piece is left to assume its own identity based on its aesthetic principles and the empirical nature it takes on. Sublime overtones take hold of the paintingâs identity the minute that the subjectâs illustrative description becomes more and more obvious. A painting is therefore resolved once colour, tone and mood combine to create a concrete message. www.faithpollington.posterous.com
