BA Honours Photography
Nat Urazmetova is a London-based visual artist and communicator, media creator and entrepreneur, born in Ufa, Bashkortostan, former USSR. A graduate of the Goldsmiths College, Master of Arts in Digital Media with distinction, and London College of Communication, University of the Arts (BA (Hons) in Photography), who also studied the humanities and international law in Moscow, Russia, before she moved to the United Kingdom. In her degree projects, Nat experimented with fusing the digital and analog, and creating multi-projection audio-visual installations, which are rooted in the practice of the Expanded Cinema movement. Her academic work includes research of the topics and themes lying at the intersection of philosophy, science, technology and art, such as Media City, remediation, âbecomingâ (Henri Bergson, Gilles Deleuze, Bernard Stiegler), expanded perception, and analysis of immersive environments and performance. As a freelance professional, Nat is currently pursuing multiple independent activities across a number of disciplines, styles and platforms within international media and culture sectors, among which are conceptual storytelling and live visual performance, fine art photography and video production, art writing and journalism. Among Natâs most recent projects are audio-visual collaboration with ULRICH SCHNAUSS, participation in ART EXPERIMENT 2013 organised by GARAGE CENTRE FOR CONTEMPORARY CULTURE, Moscow, Russia. Being a co-founder of the EYESONTHEWALL visual label, contributor and communication chief at CASSIOPEIA PROJECT, and photographer, video and moving image producer for the SOME/THINGS AGENCY, Paris, Nat has a diverse experience within communication and entertainment spheres.
