MA Fashion Design Technology (Womenswear)

Sharon’s interest in design stems from her passion for the visual arts and crafts. Before moving to London, she worked as a fancy jewellery designer for a private French company in Mauritius, where she also helped design costume embellishments for local musicals. Although specialising in surface decoration and textile manipulation, she is equally skilled at freehand drawing, illustration, stand work and pattern-cutting, with a particular interest in corsetry. Her style, however versatile, tends to lean towards a feminine mix of urban and alternative fashion, with close attention to textures and details. Being a self-reliant, fast learner keen to broaden her knowledge of the fashion industry, Sharon intends to work for a womenswear brand or luxury house with an extensive set of roles in mind besides design and production. Her CV includes work experience with British designers and brands such as Nike, Mulberry, Emma Cook, Zoe Bradley and John Richmond, for whom she designed final artworks and textiles for the Spring/Summer 2010 Mainline Collection.
