MA Photography
PERHAPS FINALLY ALONE Using elements from an spurious household, I place the subject in the centre of the photograph, raised by small food stools as if resting on plinths. The heavy curtains and upholstery materials, used as background, help to flatten the image and accentuate the amorphous positions adopted by the photographed individual. People and animals conceal their identity to become still life objects. By presenting both, anonymous people and unidentified pets, I intend to emphasize the ordinary details, textures and shapes in the photographs and abstract the logical relationship between the individual and the domesticated.
