The approach taken for my work was based initially on the foundations of the freedom we have for being whom and what we choose to be in this world. As a designer I always hear that individuality is core and whatâs even more important is the identity that is evident in your work. Thus resulting in the following important questions we may ask ourselves - What did I go through in my history? What did I grow up around and what were the environments surrounding me? Most importantly how have these experiences shaped me to result in the individual I am today? Everyone is unique and everyone has a unique and individual approach in the way they lead their lives. This uniqueness comes from the very individual experience which we have all been through. Thus considering the above carefully and actually looking from the opposite end of the spectrum of this reality and analysing how people are affected when they are stripped of identity and are strongly oppressed. What are the feelings and consequences experienced in this kind of situation? This is something that I really wanted to bring to the surface and illustrate through my work, the oppression and these experiences. Tackling concepts that have feeling and which are true and meaningful are my foundations for my inspiration and concept as a designer.
