MA Fashion and Film
I am Upasana Rao Pamujula and I was born in Hyderabad, India where I first dreamt of fashion, beauty and art while pursuing my Bachelors in Fashion Design. Coming from India, rich in traditional textile crafts and intricate surface design, I strive to experiment with traditional techniques to create new, unconventional results. I got the chance to be amidst designers and brands that fuelled my passion for fashion after coming to London, where I pursued MA in Fashion and Film at the London College of Fashion, University of the Arts. What inspires me most is art in fashion, beauty and film and my aesthetic is heavily dependent upon creating surfaces, colours and patterns that are very detail oriented. Very early on I realised I lean towards couture level intricacy and attention to detail. I now live in London, a place that inspires and creatively stimulates my ideas and aesthetic. The final dissertation of my MA in Fashion and Film is a study of how the creative process can be communicated, documented and used as a tool for marketing by the use of moving image. The emerging online viral fashion film is an area I pursued and as a practical component, I have designed a collection which was filmed with a narrative.
