Lisa Pek is an Austrian fashion designer. Her work focuses on the concept of opposition & integration. The background of her work is based on thorough research in post-/structuralistic philosophy. MA collection AW 12/13 is about conflict of intellect & labour Itâs about the conflict we live in.⦠future â past, technology â tradition, intellect â labour In a way we live in a world where intellectual work is losing its value and handicraft is winning on value because skills and knowledge are getting lost. Itâs a very present conflict nowadays. But itâs even a universal conflict which every single person lives in. Lisa Pek was using details of workwear as well as of intellectual-workerâs garments (like the suit). She also built up her own symbolism with the use of handicraft gloves and creating a faces with them. Later on she abstracted these faces into silhouettes for lines and graphics in seams or even in knitwear-design. âThe future of technology will not be the one who alienates us.
