MA Digital Arts
My work is greatly influenced from modern technology, recent sociological and humanitarian matters, as well as the contradiction between art and modern entertainment. My intention is to create worlds that are not real, but have the potential to be, or may develop to be real in the near future. Mixing traditional art with modern day entertainment contraptions and paraphrasing the social anticultural avalanche we are experiencing nowadays with meaningful theories, I try to develop a different path of showing my artwork through a combination of fantasy, facts, science, and art itself. As far as my most recent project goes, I try to find a way to explore and discuss a surreal (?) world where human bodiesâ choices of appearance and functionality are no longer determined by nature only, but also by the organicity that technology has developed through time in a parallel near future. With sculptures and digital paintings I created an installation that resembles a museum-like exhibition, where the contradiction between reality, fiction and modern art is confusing the viewerâs understandings.
