BA (Hons) Painting
Charles Moxon studies BA Painting at Camberwell College of Art (University of the Arts London, 2010- 2013) and in 2011 his work appeared Dazed and Refused, Hurwundeki Gallery, London. Charles was short-listed to the Final 300 in the BP Award, 2012 and 2013. He was also short-listed and highly commended for the Young Masters Art Prize 2012. He has exhibited in Cork Street, Kensington, Shoreditch, Chelsea and Amsterdam. He also was represented at the London art fair this year. Charles has appeared on the BBC, the Independent newspaper and was featured in Rankinâs Hunger Magazine in the summer 2013 issue. He has also been selected for the Open West exhibitions 2013. He lives and works in London. Charles Moxonâs work is steeped in historical reference. Creating intimate, devotional paintings that form themselves through the influence of traditional techniques and processes of Dutch 17th century paintings, his work seeks the craft of making in a contemporary age while also exploring the personality and analysis of the contemporary sitter.
