BA (Hons) Fine Art: Painting
Expanding painting. My work explores the taxonomy of painting, testing the boundaries of traditional flat painting and employing sculptural techniques as a means to create new painting environments; where I mean to physically immerse the audience through painting. Using the mediums established materials such as canvas, structure and pigment and altering their conventional uses I try to employ an active viewing process to painting, this is where sculptural techniques come into play. My work doesn't denounce two dimensional painting, it toys with an expanded notion of the medium and I emphasise this expansion positively through a lively palette of neons and pastels.
